1000 Islands, NY - North Country Access Cycling, Northern New York’s chapter of Disabled Sports, USA, will hold North Country Access 2012 on Friday July 13, 2012 at the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, NY.

North Country Access 2012 is an all-day all-abilities water sports recreation event on the shores of the St. Lawrence River. Children and adults with mobility impairments, sensory limitation or other disabling conditions will have the chance to fully participate.

Recently injured veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will participate. “This is our chance to show support for those who have served by engaging them as part of our community. Recreation and participation in sports have been shown to provide a foundation for development of a positive self-image and to lessen the emotional and psychological trauma of war and injury. This is a transformative factor in leading a productive and independent life. We are delighted and honored to have a role in that healing process,” states Susan Zabriskie, event chair.

The Antique Boat Museum in Clayton NY will be the host site.
